I first read the interview in 2006 when I heard of her death. She was doing a very difficult move that has since been banned from practice and competition. A few other women (and men too, I'm sure) have been badly hurt when performing it, though no one as badly as Elena as far as I know. It was good at least to read her own words about everything, that she finally gave an interview and talked about her experience. Of course, that's something our animals will never be able to do - I'm sure there's much they could tell us about abuse and overwork. :-( Thanks Lilian.
